Well HELLO everyone! I am back after a little hiatus and I'm looking for your opinions. I've recently tried a new body cream called Grecian Oil. It wasn't bad, had a good consistency, but the almond smell just really made it a bit of a disappointment.
Now that it is summer, do you use lotion? If you do, what do you like about it? I'm talking consistency, purpose (i.e. firming, moisturizing, exfoliating, etc.), scent...and the list goes on. I personally find it hard to wear lotion in the summer just because it's so hot, but I am curious to know what others like. Let me know!!!!

Lancome Le Curler and More...
I received the Lancome Le Curler about a month before it hits the stores. I am a HUGE fan of Lancome products, so I decided to create a video to show you how I like to use my products. You can view them on YouTube. One is about the curler itself and the other video is a short clip about makeup application.
Happy Friday and Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there :)

Keep the feedback coming...I'm really interested in what people thing about the new blog design. Is it too much, should I go back to the old one, or start over entirely? I won't take offense, I promise. I just want something that you all want to read! There's a pole on the the left-hand side where you can vote. Please do!!! Thank you!

Eyeliner fit for a Princess
I'll admit it, I have a small obession with Kate Middleton. Everything about it exudes class and taste. Her sister, Pippa? Well, maybe she's more fit for Kate's brother-in-law, Harry.
Kate's makeup look is polished and perfect everytime I see a picture of her. She accentuates those eyes, goes easy on the blush but enough to give her a wonderful glow and natural lips.
So lots of liner on the upper and lower lashes (although I hear the French think she wears too much liner!) and lots and lots of mascara. She goes very light on the cheeks and lips, but much of her glowing skin can apparently be attributed to her love of Karin Herzog products (available in the UK or online).

How to Deal with those Puffy Eyes...
Such an exciting day yesterday! Cinco de Mayo AND the Kentucky Derby on the same day! Did you have a margarita or a mint julep? I personally am a fan of those tasty mint juleps and to get in the spirit, I took out my derby hat.
So now - how do we deal with those puffy eyes the day after?

Skin Types
I've been saying for two weeks now that I'll shed some light on skin types. Well, here it is! At least the beginning...as you can imagine there is an enormous amount of information out there. One of my favorite resources is Skin Type Solutions with Leslie Bauman, MD. You'll be able to explore more at her website.
We are all familiar with the major types of skin - dry, oily, combination and sensitive. Well, Dr. Bauman breaks skin down into 16 sub-types. This explains why a product your friend uses who says they have the same type of skin as you might not work well on your skin. Checkout the different subtypes and what they mean.

New Design, Like it or Not?
So I was playing around and came across this background which seemed much less drab. Maybe it's this week of damp, dark, grey weather we have had in Boston, but I felt like I needed some color in my life. Let me know what you think using the poll to the left of this post :) Thanks for your input!!!

Skin Lighteners/Brighteners - What's the Deal?
What a great question, thanks for asking Christiina! Yes, there are many products out there in both drugstores and department stores. The main words you want to look for are skin brighteners or products of uneven skin tone. I'll given you about 3 pricepoint options to choose from. The first would be a product called Ambi. This is in the drugstore and is relatively inexpensive. It contains an ingredient called hydroquinone which is what lightens the skin. You need to be careful, because it can lighten your skin too much. I prefer to spend little more and go with a product that doesn't sound so scary! The next option would be Clinique's Even Better line. And finally, the third option comes from Lancome, the Bright Expert Dark Spot Corrector. All of these this produce some effect of lightening, but much may depend more on how much your pocket wants to correct those dark spots! A great reference to see which products are more effective than others is called the Beautypediaa, by Paul Begoun. She has written some great reference articles on this. I'd check it out online to see which will work best for you. Good Luck!

Eyelash Curlers - What's the Difference?
Is there a difference in eyelash curlers? In my opinion yes, but I never really believed it until yesterday. Prior to yesterday, I was using an E.L.F. eyelash curler. I bought it at Target for $1.00. And it really did curl my eyelashes! Prior to that, I had used Revlon and Clinique eyelash curlers. They all felt relatively the same and seemed to create the same effect.
Well, much to my surprise, I was one of the lucky ones to receive the Lancome Le Curler one month before it's open to the public. And WOW!!!! I finally noticed a difference and will be ditching the E.L.F. one for now.
